The 2005-2006 Ford Expedition is built with the following suspension components: 2005-2006 Ford Expedition Air Springs (x4)- These rubber air sacks are inflated with pressurized air sacks, allowing the suspension to hold the vehicle up off of its ground and its wheels. Behind almost every air suspension leak is a faulty air bag. Once one goes bad, the others are quick to follow, so they should all be replaced at the same time. 2005-2006 Ford Expedition Struts (x4)- These metal tubes support the weight of the vehicle and are attached to each wheel. They are filled with a gas-charged hydraulic fluid that helps it absorb the force of the wheel traveling over uneven surfaces. When connected to the air spring, the entire assembly is referred to as an air strut. 2005-2006 Ford Expedition Height Sensors (x4)- One of these linkages can be found next to each wheel of a vehicle with an electronically-controlled suspension. Either mechanically or electronically, this component is constantly measuring the height of the vehicle and reporting that information to the control module. It is one of the many components of an air suspension that is a moving part and will wear out eventually. 2005-2006 Ford Expedition Air Lines- These hoses bring pressurized air out of the compressor to deliver it to the air bags where it is used to inflate them to adjust the height of the vehicle. 2005-2006 Ford Expedition Solenoids (x4)- These L-shaped plastic component is what regulates the air pressure in each air spring.
